The James W. Foley Legacy Foundation honors the life and impact of murdered journalist James (Jim) Foley by advocating for policy reform to bring American hostages and political prisoners home. The Foundation is growing in stature and influence, and needed a strategy to grow its fundraising capacity.

Jim was a dear friend of Wiseblood principal, Daniel Presnell, so the opportunity to tell the Foundation’s story was of great importance to the entire Wiseblood team. Inspired by Jim’s work as a storyteller and the legacy of great copy driven cause campaigns, our campaign centered the viewer in the experience of detention. The campaign message generated a strong reaction among donors, increased awareness of the foundation and increased end-of-year giving. During the campaign, we also gathered valuable data on donors, channels and media spend to develop an ongoing fundraising platform.
